Hilversum station wins Brunel design award

The central railway station in the Dutch media town of Hilversum has won the prestigious Brunel Award. This is an international prize for station design which was presented to Dutch rail company ProRail and engineering organisation Arcadis in Washington D.C.

Architect Beate Vlaanderen, who was responsible for the tunnel and the square which were part of the facelift the station received recently, commented:
