6th November 2011, Comments 0 comments

Over 13,000 people across the country turned out on Saturday to join Nature Working Day. This year, the eleventh time the event was held, saw a record turnout.

At some 400 locations professionals helped volunteers pollard willows, clean out pools or bring in hay.

Such maintenance work, formerly done by farmers, help plants and animals flourish and spread.

National Working Day is held every year on the first Saturday in November.
