AMSTERDAM – The Hell's Angels held a "support party" at their clubhouse on Saturday evening. A week earlier a benefit at the Amsterdam clubhouse was blocked by the municipality because the permit had not been applied for on time.

Amsterdam said at that time that the club could hold a private party but that wasn't what the Angels had in mind.

A spokesperson said the whole idea was to invite people from outside the club in order to raise money for the legal costs the club has incurred for the court cases in which it is involved.

The public prosecution department is currently waging a civil offensive against the six chapters of the Hell's Angels in the Netherlands. The authorities have so far failed to get the club banned in Leeuwarden and Amsterdam however.
