Dutch swimmer Femke Heemskerk has improved her own record in the women’s 200m back stroke. At the French championships in Strasbourg, she set a new national record of 2:9.14, almost 2.5 seconds faster than her previous record.

The race was won by French swimmer Alexianne Castel. Femke Heemskerk is to swim three more races in Strasbourg. Since last year, Femke Heemskerk has been training in the French city of Marseille together with her compatriot Inge Dekker, who will take part in five events in Strasbourg.
