The Hague city council will hand out EUR 200 subsidies to residents who fit exhaust filters to their diesel cars.16 July 2008
THE HAGUE - From 1 August, The Hague city council will hand out EUR 200 subsidies to private motorists who fit exhaust filters to their diesel cars.
The move is an attempt to improve air quality in the city. Filters reduce harmful exhaust emissions by between 30 and 70 percent.
Fitting a filter to a diesel car is already subsidised by the government and the new local subsidy means that residents of The Hague will pay almost nothing for the exhaust filters.
