THE HAGUE – The four large cities will be given extra funds to tackle crime among Moroccan youth.
Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague and Utrecht are already being given a total of EUR 5 million extra a year to prevent Moroccan problem youth from slipping into a life of crime. Starting next year that will be increased to EUR 6 million.
Justice Minister Ernst Hirsch Ballin has announced this in answer to questions from the Freedom party PVV in Parliament. He pointed out that Moroccan and Antillean youth are "relatively overrepresented" among suspects of criminal offences.
