HARKEMA - Sjoerd Groenhof of Harkema will try to exchange his Dutch nationality for Frisian nationality via the court in The Hague.

Groenhof says on his website on Monday that according to European regulations it must be possible to be a Dutch citizen and hold Frisian nationality at the same time.

Groenhof refers to the registration of Doekele Brouwer in the trade register of the Chamber of Commerce in 1951. Brouwer registered himself as a Dutch citizen with Frisian nationality. After a court case the district judge in Leeuwarden ruled in favour of Brouwer, Groenhof reports.
