Frightened horse causes havoc in Dutch town

A horse in the Dutch town of Baarle Nassau bolted and jumped through a shop window, dragging along the open coach it was hauling.

Local police said that the horse was frightened by a row between a motorist and the coachman. The motorist had cut into the coachman's path, which led to a heated discussion during which the angry car driver slammed the roof of his car a number of times.

The horse got slightly injured when it ran away and jumped into the shop, but a local vet said its injuries are not life-threatening. It did, however, cut off one of its ears in the incident.

Nobody was hurt, but the shop interior was wrecked by the sudden intrusion of the horse and its coach. Police are tracing the motorist.
