Fortuyn's possessions to be auctioned

The personal possessions of murdered politician Pim Fortuyn are to be auctioned later this year.

THE NETHERLANDS - Since 2007, the house where Mr Fortuyn lived and worked has been occupied by an insurance and consultancy firm.

However, the residential portion of the building has been left undisturbed and such items as slippers, newspapers and spectacles still lie where they were left in 2002.

Due to their recent financial difficulties, the two owners of the insurance firm have decided to auction off Mr Fortuyn's possessions.

The auction will be held on 27 June in Nijmegen.
