AMSTERDAM — 'Eén NL' is the name of the new political party launched by Rotterdam politician Marco Pastors and former populist LPF MP Joost Eerdmans.
The right-wing politicians founded the party in a bid to win a foothold in the Lower House of Parliament at the upcoming elections.
And a spokesperson for Een NL said the party is hoping to win at least 15 seats.
Its major policy areas will be social security, safety, education, bureaucracy and integration.
An important plank of its manifesto will be the belief that everyone who wants to live in the Netherlands must accept that Western culture that predominates.
Pastors has previously served on the Rotterdam Council with local party Livable Rotterdam (Leefbaar Rotterdam).
That party was led by anti-immigration and rising star politician Pim Fortuyn until his brutal assassination in May 2002.
Eerdmans was elected an MP with Fortuyn's national party the LPF and served admirably despite the party's internal squabbles.
