Football coach Mario Been says he will stay for the rest of this season at NEC Nijmegen.

AMSTERDAM - His announcement, which is made on the club's website, is aimed at stifling speculation that he is in the running to take over as trainer at Rotterdam's Feyenoord club.

Feyenoord coach Gertjan Verbeek left the club last week, and the NEC trainer, himself a former Feyenoord player, was being tipped to replace him. Last month, he extended his contract with NEC to the summer of 2012, but a clause allows him to terminate the contract on payment of EUR 750,000.
