Football: PSV and FC Twente set for battle

PSV and FC Twente are emerging as the main contenders for the Premier League title. Both clubs added three points to their lead over Ajax, who lost 3-2 to ADO Den Haag. With six more games to go, PSV are now six points ahead of Ajax and FC Twente five.

Playing home, PSV beat FC Utrecht 1-0, with Otman Bakkal scoring the fixture's single goal early in the second half.

Twente secured a 2-0 away victory over Excelsior, with Theo Janssen netting both goals, one of them by converting a penalty. PSV will face Twente in two weeks' time.

ADO-Ajax Ajax were losing up to three times and only managed to put up a fight in the second half but then failed to get past 3-2. ADO are now on fifth spot, just one point behind AZ.

FC Groningen, which had lost four times in a row, is now back on track for a fourth spot after beating NAC 0-1, with Andreas Granqvist scoring the match's only goal. Groningen now two have points less than AZ.

Feyenoord Feyenoord lost 3-0 to Roda JC, who are in seventh position, thanks to goals by Anouar Hadouir, Mads Junker and Diego Biseswar who scored an own goal. Due to their defeat, Feyenoord remain on 12th spot.  cl/rk
