Five hurt as building collapses in Rotterdam
Five people were injured when a building being erected in the Dutch port city of Rotterdam collapsed on Thursday, police and the fire service said.
"A building under construction collapsed in the city centre at around 12.30 pm (1030 GMT)," Rotterdam police spokeswoman Willemieke Romijn told AFP.
"Several people were trapped under the rubble and are being freed" 30 minutes after the collapse.
Fire brigade spokesman Ruud Natrop put the number of injured at five construction workers, but could not say how seriously they were hurt.
"The building was not very high yet. They were still pouring the concrete," he said.
