First walkers back in Nijmegen
The first participants in the 95th edition of the International Four Days Marches made it back to the starting point in Nijmegen around noon on Tuesday.
Traditionally a few dozen of the walkers who trek 50 kilometres a day arrive back in Nijmegen after just eight hours.
Today’s march took walkers through the picturesque Betuwe region, located between the Rhine and Waal rivers.
The organisation has urged participants to carry rain gear and extra dry socks. The Four Days Marches' meteorological service expects showers in the afternoon.
A total of 41,316 walkers set out early on Tuesday morning on the first day of the event.
