First marchers back in Nijmegen
The first participants in the 95th edition of the Nijmegen Four Days Marches made it back to the starting point in Nijmegen around noon on Tuesday.
Traditionally a few dozen of the walkers who walk 50 kilometres a day arrive back in Nijmegen after just eight hours.
Today’s march takes the walkers through the picturesque Betuwe region, located between the Rhine and Waal rivers.
The organisation has urged walkers to carry rain gear and extra dry socks. The Four Days Marches meteorological service expects that a few rain showers will fall in the afternoon.
A total of 41,316 walkers set out on Tuesday morning.
