First Human Rights Tulip awarded

Justine Masika wins award in the Hague for her work in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

THE HAGUE - To mark the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the first Human Rights Tulip was awarded to Justine Masika in The Hague.

Ms Masika heads a women's rights organisation in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Human Rights Tulip provides EUR 10,000, plus EUR 100,000 for a human rights project of the winner's choice.
