Sunday's Dutch Premier League action saw AZ beat Feyenoord 2-1, climbing to sixth spot. Still in freefall, Feyenoord plummets to 15th place in the table.

It was a chaotic match and AZ's first goal, by Brett Hollman, was a bit of a fluke. Pellè from Italy, brought in by AZ coach Gertjan Verbeek in the second half, scored at the first opportunity, extending his team's lead to 2-0. A goal by Luc Castaigno briefly rekindled Feyenoord's hopes but in the end the Rotterdam squad never got past 2-1.

Bottom-of-the-league Willem II has managed to win its second point of the season by drawing 2-2 against Roda JC. Willem Jansen scored twice for Roda JC. Andreas Lasnik and Gerson Sheotahul netted the goals for Willem II.

All Arnhem and Nijmegen had been looking forward to the NEC-Vitesse fixture. But both clubs failed to live up to the expectations and the match ended in a miserable 0-0.

Playing home, ADO Den Haag defeated FC Utrecht 1-0. Lex Immers scored the match's only goals just after half-time.

On Saturday, FC Groningen beat VVV-Venlo 3-5, further worsening the latter's already precarious position. The man of the match was Tim Matavz, who scored three times. Gonzalo Garcia and Koen van de Laak netted the other two goals for FC Groningen. Bálàzs Toth, Ahmed Ahahaoui and Michael Uchebo scored for VVV-Venlo.
