APELDOORN – The sms text message which police sent to 2,500 people on Thursday resulted in a few responses, a police spokesperson said on Friday. The sms was send to people who live in the neighbourhood of the primary school where a 47-year-old man was shot on Thursday morning.

The replies are being looked into, as are other tips that the police have received. The police have still not identified who the suspect might be. Nor did anyone get a good description of the gunman.

"We are compiling all the information. Then we will start an extensive neighbourhood investigation in the hope that area residents saw something on Thursday morning," the spokesperson said.

The investigation of the crime scene was concluded at about 8pm last night. The area around the school is accessible once again.
