AMSTERDAM — A family in the Limburg town of Maasbree will continue working as normal and has no plans to move to more opulent accommodation despite winning a record EUR 7.3 million on two tickets in the National Postcode Lottery.

Father of two Cor van de Heijden, 53, was presented with a cheque of EUR 7 million and a EUR 294,117 cheque at the Luxor Theatre in Rotterdam on Saturday night. He had bought two tickets in the double jackpot lottery and the main prize was awarded to ticket number 5993 GL 065.

But the entire village of Maasbree — which has a postcode of 5993 — benefited financially from the lottery, with residents who had bought tickets sharing EUR 2.5 million in prize money. The remaining municipal residents will share EUR 1 million.
