Enschede team FC Twente played London club Fulham to a 1-1 draw in an away game on Thursday evening. The two goals were both made before half time.

A blunder by Dwight Tiendalli allowed Andrew Johnson to put Fulham in the lead after just 19 minutes. Tiendalli, back in the starting line-up this season, made a rookie mistake by counter-attacking through his own centre, Andrew Johnson took advantage of the mistake, won a duel against Peter Wisgerhof and passed goalie Nikolai Michailov. Luuk de Jong scored the equaliser from a cross by Roberto Rosales when he headed the ball into the goal just before half time.

Coach Co Adriaanse’s decision to use Rosales as a striker on the right wing, until recently the position of Bryan Ruiz who was sold to Fulham, paid off. It was Rosales’s first time in the starting line-up. He made a late start this season as a result of obligations in his native Venezuela.
