FC Twente achieved a hard-won victory against ADO Den Haag tonight. Their 2-1 result against the giant slayers from The Hague means the Dutch premier league is still on course for a nail-biting finish.

After drawing their last two matches, the reigning league champions took the lead over one hour into tonight’s game with a goal by Bryan Ruiz. But their advantage was short-lived as ADO’s Dmitri Bulykin scored the equaliser in the 70th minute.

A late goal by Luuk de Jong clinched victory for Twente and put them ahead in the race for the premier league title.

With only three matches left to play, FC Twente and PSV are still jostling for pole position with Ajax hot on their heels as a dangerous outsider.

The Easter weekend holds more excitement as PSV faces the might of Feyenoord on Sunday while Ajax are hoping to boost their title prospects with a resounding victory over struggling Excelsior.
