In group A of the UEFA Champions League, FC Twente have beaten SV Werder Bremen 0-2 in an away game.

Twente had to play without star player Theo Janssen and striker Wout Brama due to injuries. The Dutch team needed to step up its game as two weeks ago, FC Twente drew 1-all against the German team at home.

Like in the home game the first half passed without anyone scoring. In the second half, Werder Bremen was one man down after Torsten Frings got a red card for a foul against Bryan Ruiz.

The first goal by Nacer Chadli only came in the 81st minute but three minutes later Luuk De Jong headed the ball into the net sealing a victory for Twente. As a result the Dutch team is still in the running for the next round of the competition with five points. Tottenham Hotspur and Internazionale both have seven points.

In three weeks time, Twente will face title holder Inter Milan.
