Dutch press photographer Evert-Jan Daniels has won the Zilveren Camera 2010 Silver Camera. The prize for the best Dutch press photo was awarded on Sunday in the Fotomuseum in The Hague.

Mr. Daniels won the prize for his photograph of conservative VVD party leader Mark Rutte flanked by Freedom Party leader Geert Wilders and CDA Christian Democrats party leader Maxime Verhagen. The photograph was taken after agreement had been reached to form a minority government of VVD and CDA supported by the Freedom Party. Mr Daniels made the photograph for the newspaper AD.

The photograph was selected from nearly 10,000 submissions as the best press photograph of 2010. The Jury said about the photo: "It shows that the party leaders are eager. They are also in a hurry, and Mr Daniels recorded their haste at exactly the right moment." The jury also said that Daniels did not only portray the negotiators, but also shows how they wanted to be perceived.
