THE NETHERLANDS - The Dutch Transplant Foundation says that during the past three years, about 50 Dutch citizens have received an organ transplant in Belgium, including people who were not on the waiting list in the Netherlands.

The foundation says it is much easier for people in need of an organ to get help in Belgium because more organs are available. In Belgium, everyone is a donor unless he or she makes a formal objection.

Dutch Health Minister Ab Klink says he does not intend to change the system in the Netherlands. He does not believe people should become donors without giving their permission.
