EU-mission investigates Dutchman Feith
The public prosecutor of Eulex, the European Union mission to Kosovo, has launched an investigation into former EU envoy Pieter Feith.
The Serbian broadcasting company B92 reported on Monday that the Dutch diplomat is suspected of inappropriately influencing the board of commissioners of the central bank of Kosovo. The Dutch diploma was the special EU envoy to Kosovo until 1 May.
As one of EU foreign policy coordinator Catherine Ashton’s main advisors, Mr Feith had extensive powers. He had the right to sack corrupt officials and politicians, suspend laws and reverse government decisions.
