Dutchman confesses to killing Bristol woman
A Dutchman suspected of killing Bristol architect Joanna Yeates has confessed. The suspect, Vincent Tabak, said in court that he committed manslaughter. Mr Tabak was Ms Yeates' neighbour.
She was last seen on 17 December 2010 in a grocery store after a pub visit. One week later her frozen body was found by a country lane. It turned out she had been strangled.
Mr Tabak, who is 33, was arrested a month later, under intense media attention.His confession was made to the court via a video link. It is now up to the prosecution to decide whether to push ahead with their murder inquiry, or to accept the manslaughter confession.
