Dutch women's hockey team off to good start

The Dutch women’s hockey team has started the European Championships in Mönchengladbach with a convincing victory. The Holland team beat Azerbeijan 8-0. Azerbeijan’s women’s team is ranked 14th in the world.

The defending champion's goals were scored by Maartje Paumen 3, Kim Lammers 3, Ellen Hoog and Willemijn Bos.

The Dutch are due to play against Spain on Sunday in the second group match. Spain beat Italy 4-0 in its first match of the competition.
