Dutch will not expand efforts in Libya
The Netherlands has not answered calls from Paris and London to increase military deployment in Libya. The Dutch government considers enforcement of the arms embargo and flight ban a sufficient enough contribution to the NATO mission.
“We believe that we deliver an adequate share with our F-16s and other resources,” said Minister of Foreign Affairs Uri Rosenthal Thursday following a meeting with NATO colleagues in Berlin. According to him, the Netherlands is providing its fair share just like other NATO allies.
On Wednesday, French and British officials called for other countries to participate in the NATO-led mission against Gaddafi’s regime in the North African country.
