An international train in the Netherlands has been evacuated because one of the passengers was said to be acting suspiciously, Dutch police report.

The train was travelling from Germany to the Dutch capital Amsterdam, carrying around 300 passengers. It was halted near the central village of Barneveld in response to a report from the German authorities, who were acting on information from a female passenger, a Dutch police spokesperson said.

The woman claimed a fellow passenger had been acting suspiciously. The man had already left the train. Dutch police are currently carrying out a search of the train. The passengers were transferred to busses.
