In the second round of the World Baseball Classic in Miami, the Dutch team were beaten 3-1 by Venezuela.

MIAMI - Venezuela's victory in the double-elimination tournament means the South Americans will play the winner of the game between the United States and Puerto Rico.

In the first round, the Dutch team won a surprising victory against the Dominican Republic, widely regarded as one of the best teams in the competition.

The Dutch will now face the loser of the US-Puerto Rico match.

The World Baseball Classic is baseball's equivalent of a world championship series.
