THE NETHERLANDS - The Dutch driving test is to become more difficult from March 2009. Candidates will have to answer 25 extra computer-based questions geared towards recognising dangerous situations.

The reason for the measure is that a large number of road accidents are caused by novice drivers each year. The driving test was already toughened up this year to include elements such as driving in traffic jams and following a route using a navigation system.
