AMSTERDAM — Dutch police arrested a 14-year-old boy on Thursday for allegedly shooting at children playing in the yard of a primary school.

One child was slightly injured in the incident in the Dutch city of Roermond earlier Thursday, the police revealed on Friday.

The teenager is accused of firing an air gun from the attic window of his parents' home. The school yard was full at the time, and panic broke out when the shooting started.

The youth allegedly kept firing the air gun while parents and teachers scrambled to bring the children to safety.

The shooting stopped as the police arrived at the house. Officers located the suspect after a search of the local area.

The police expect to make a second arrest shortly.
