An Amsterdam court has cleared self-styled healing medium Jomanda of any responsibility for the death of actress Sylvia Millecam.

Amsterdam - An Amsterdam court has cleared self-styled healing medium Jomanda of any responsibility for the death of actress Sylvia Millecam. The popular television personality died of breast cancer in 2001 aged 45 after refusing conventional medical treatment.

The court ruled that the celebrated Dutch spiritualist's influence over Millecam was not decisive. The court did rule that two doctors who provided alternative therapies to Millecam were to answer for her death. However, the judge imposed no sentences, saying they had been punished enough by their professional bodies and by adverse media attention.

The two were earlier struck off the medical register.

Jomanda was not in court for the hearing: she is at present in Canada. Her lawyer said she would learn a lesson from the sentence.
