THE NETHERLANDS - The Dutch are spending more time online - 80 minutes a day on average compared to just 43 minutes in 2006 - according to a survey on recreation time.

The Dutch are real couch potatoes when it comes to free time, watching 138 minutes of TV a day, while the national daily newspapers get a mere 15 minute scan. Playing computer games takes up 13 minutes in the day of a Dutch.

The research also shows Dutch are increasingly combining these activities: three quarters of internet access takes place with the television or radio on at the same time.
