BAARN  - Dutch 18-year-old Esmeé Denters is the first artist to be signed to Tennman Records, Justin Timberlake's new record label. She will also be the opening act for a number of Timberlake's shows on his upcoming tour, Universal records announced on Tuesday.

Denters became known worldwide on video website YouTube. The Oosterbeek native posted films of herself singing cover versions of songs from artists like Shakira and Beyoncé. Some of her videos have been viewed by 1.5 million YouTube visitors.

Two months ago she was invited to a London studio to sing with Timberlake. That video can also be seen on YouTube.

Denters is very enthusiastic about the record contract. "Words cannot describe how happy I am. I've always dreamed of being able to do something like this. I want to thank YouTube and everyone who visits it. That site gave me the opportunity to let the world hear my voice. I also want to thank Justin. He believes in me and is making my dreams come true."

On 16 June she will sing at Timberlake's concert in the Amsterdam ArenA, followed by dates in Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, Gothenburg and Antwerp.

Timberlake is proud of the collaboration. "Esmée is 'the real deal' and I can't wait for the world to hear her. But her fans on YouTube don't need to worry. We'll keep you updated on all her experiences," the singer said.
