Dutch screen adaptation award for 'Submarino'

The Danish film has been designated the best screen adaptation of the year at the Film by the Sea festival in Vlissingen Flushing, Netherlands.

The script of is based on the novel of the same name by Jonas Bengtsson. The film was directed by Thomas Vinterberg, known for his successes with 'Festen'.

The festival jury said 'it is contemporary film about addiction to which the jury almost got addicted too'. The prize, 5,000 euros and a statuette made by Aat Veldhoen, were presented to one of the leading actors in the movie, Jakob Cedergren.
