Dutch province invested money in Lehman brothers
The Dutch Province of Zeeland had five million euros invested in the bankrupt US business bank Lehman Brothers.13 October 2008
The provincial representative Toine Poppelaars says they are looking into whether the money can be recovered.
On Saturday, it emerged that a possible twelve local councils had a total of 58 million euros deposited in the ailing Iceland bank Landsbanki. The Interior Ministry is compiling an inventory of where councils and provinces had invested or deposited money.
