A body of a woman found in a wood near the town of Spijkenisse has been identified to be that of missing woman Farida Zargar.

The young woman has been missing for over a year. She never arrived home after she left work by bike.  Her body was found after a suspect from the same town indicated to police where it may be. The 34-year-old man is suspected of kidnapping Farida which led to her death. The body was missing a foot, which had already been found under the man’s shed.

The police had searched the wood before as it lay en route to Farida’s place of work. The case reopened after her bag was found in the man’s house – police had raided the house in connection with a different case. It is not clear how the woman was killed, the Dutch Forensic Institute is still carrying out tests.
