Dutch passengers unhurt in Thai plane crash

No Dutch passengers were injured in a plane crash which killed a pilot on Thai island Koh Samui.

Bangkok – A Thai flight with Dutch passengers on board has crashed on the airfield of the Thai holiday island Koh Samui on Tuesday, De Telegraaf reports.

According to the Dutch embassy in Bangkok, as many as nine Dutch were on board but all are said to be unhurt.

Of the 72 on board the Bangkok Airways plane, only the pilot was killed. The airline has said that seven people were wounded, five of whose injuries are serious. The Thai public health ministry said 42 people were injured in the crash.

The ATR 72 aeroplane crashed when it tried to land during heavy rain and turbulence. The plane slid and came to a standstill against an old control tower.
