As of 1 January 2010, De Telegraaf will stop its Sunday paper.

The Netherlands – De Telegraaf has decided to stop publishing its Sunday edition due to declining advertising revenues.

The Sunday edition, Telegraaf op Zonday, which was launched in 2004, will be discontinued as of 1 January 2010.

It is uncommon for Dutch newspapers to publish Sunday editions. Instead most newspapers publish extra supplements in their Saturday editions.

Another newspaper that used to publish Sunday papers was regional paper Twentsche Courant Tubantia. However, lack of advertising revenue caused the paper to pull the plug on its Sunday edition early this year.

The paper's editor-in-chief Sjuul Paradijs lamented: "We've lost that unique Sunday moment. It can never be replaced."

Part of the regular features in the Sunday edition will be published in the returns in De Telegraaf’s tabloid Weekend.
