Woman, dog hurt by Doberman, A woman, 50, was taken to hospital with wounds to her face and head after she was attacked by a Doberman while out walking her dog in the Dutch town of Overveen on Monday. The woman's little dog also suffered serious injuries and was taken to the animal hospital. The Doberman's owner, who was not with the dog at the time of the attack, was arrested.

Agis sheds 'silent' clients

Dutch health insurer Agis is to cancel the insurance policies of 9,000 of its clients who have failed to reply to repeated attempts to contact them. The cancellation of the policies will become final if the clients do not respond by 1 May.

Trains halted at Schiphol

Train travel between Schiphol Airport and Amsterdam-Sloterdijk, Amsterdam-Zuid WTC and Hoofddorp stations was suspended for an hour on Monday after a driver spotted workmen in the Schiphol Tunnel.  Police said it was too dangerous for the trains to run until the contractors left the tunnel.

EUR 2 million seized in laundering case

Police in Amsterdam took possession of almost EUR 2 million in cash found during an investigation into money laundering. Detectives arrested a man, 34, on 6 March in connection with the case. During a search of a house, police found EUR 1.8 million in cash in bundles of EUR 500 notes that were hidden in the isolation in the roof.

Officer questioned after fatal shooting

The officer who shot and killed a man, 49, in Nijkerkerveen, Gelderland on Sunday has been questioned as a witness but has not been arrested, the authorities said on Monday. The victim was shot dead when he refused to drop the realistic looking toy gun he was waving.
