Hunt for race killing suspects in Amsterdam

British newspaper 'Daily Mail' has reported that the hunt for the men sought for the vicious race killing of Anthony Walker in Merseyside has shifted to Amsterdam. The Dutch police have refused to confirm this and have directed all media questions back to investigators in the UK. The newspaper said Michael Barton, brother of Manchester City midfielder Joey, is understood to have fled to Amsterdam.  Detectives want to speak to the 18-year-old over the death of Anthony, who was attacked with an axe in Huyton, Merseyside.  Anthony, 18, was followed through a park by a gang who had earlier hurled racial abuse at him as he waited for a bus with his white girlfriend and cousin Marcus Binns, 17. Mr Binns and the 17-year-old girl managed to escape but Mr Walker was attacked in the park. The Daily Mail said police also want to speak to 20-year-old Paul Taylor, of Huyton, who was believed to be with travelling with Barton.

Balkenende pays last respect to Saudi King

Dutch Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende and Foreign Minister Ben Bot are travelling to Saudi Arabia to attend the official ceremony on Wednesday in Riyadh to mark the death of King Fahd. The morning period runs from 4pm on Tuesday to midnight on Thursday. 

Dutchman arrested on Bali

A 44-year-old Dutchman has been arrested on the island of Bali in Indonesia for allegedly sexually molesting underage children. Three boys, one aged just nine, have made complaints against the man. Police say they have been watching him for some time but could not act until a complaint was made.

Ten hurt in Rotterdam fire

Ten people were injured in a fire in a flat on the Dordtselaan in Rotterdam on Tuesday. A small child was seriously injured as the panicked parents dropped it from the fourth floor, police say. The other victims suffered breathing difficulties due to the heavy smoke.
