EINDHOVEN - The Dutch national football team is due to play a friendly match against Australia on 6 September in Eindhoven.

Both teams will use the match to prepare for a qualification match for the World Championships four days later. The first qualifier for the Dutch is against Macedonia. It will be new national coach Bert van Marwijk's debut.

The last game between the Netherlands and Australia was in the run up to the World Championships in 2006. That game ended in a one-all draw.
