Dutch municipalities refuse visit by Israelis

The Dutch association of municipalities (VNG) said Sunday it had cancelled a visit to the Netherlands by a group of Israeli community leaders because seveal members were from the West Bank.

"The West Bank is not officially a part of Israel. And, negotiations are underway between Israelis and Palestinians about the West Bank. The VNG does not want to give the impression of favouring on side over the other by organising this visit," VNG's spokesman Arjen Konijnenberg said.

The association said it had consulted the Dutch foreign ministry before making a decision, but that the choice was made wholly by them.

Around 25 heads of small and medium-sized Israeli municipalities were due to visit the Netherlands, according to Israel's association of local governments.

The president of the association, Shlomo Buhbut said in a statement he regretted the cancellation of the trip, adding that the decision "harms the chances of furthering peace" in the Middle East.

    Neanderthal75,

Actually your wrong, as you portray yourself as someone who knows when in fact your self indulged misuse of information makes you quite ignorant and I gather it's which side your on to know if your for peace or your a warmonger which has nothing to do with anti Semitism, hatred is hatred. Stealing land and the world acknowledging that doesn't make annyone anti Semitic so your words are of those who cheerlead hate towards arabs. So I may say your Anti Semitic.

    Denny,

Actually you are wrong and the vein of your wording mirrors the official anti-semitism this action proves is part and parcel of the Dutch Govt.

No wonder Geert Wilders' party won so big in the recent election!

The very STATEMENT and decision by the VNG is proves that the Dutch Govt. IS taking sides: the side of the terrorists of Hamas in Gaza!

Dutch Govt. anti-semitism is severely on the rise, while at the same time the Dutch Govt. continues to appease and play lap dog for Muslims in Holland.

The current Govt. LOST because they are no longer in touch with the average Niederlander; the elitist in the DG really don't 'get it'.

    Cheers

THE INTERPRETATION is if your not siding with the Israeli's right to land that isn't theirs than don't be surprised if Israel doesn't offer any of their freshly made missiles when you need them.
