Dutch mobile internet "still in development"

The Dutch are at the forefront in Europe in many areas of digitalisation, with the exception for the use of mobile internet where they are lagging behind. That is one of the conclusions of the European Commission’s first comparative analysis of EU member states on the basis of the Digital Agenda, according to the telecom watchdog Opta.

“Mobile internet use is clearly still in development and below the European average” says Opta. On the other hand, the Netherlands has the highest penetration of broadband in Europe: 91 percent of households and companies have high-speed broadband. More than half the connections are faster than 10 MB per second, which is “extremely high in a European context.”
