Two Dutch mine sweepers are to help Spain stop illegal migrants from entering the country from Morocco and Algeria.

The ships will be deployed in June, the cabinet announced today.

Any migrants they apprehend will be handed over to the Spanish authorities.

The Spanish authorities are keen to intercept any mimigrants who try to slipt into Spain illegally.

In March, two Dutch planes helped the Italian border police bar migrants leaving Tunisia and Libya.
