THE NETHERLANDS - The Dutch cabinet is expected to propose legislation aimed at giving patients legal rights on Friday. They include the right to disclosure of medical errors, the right to quality and safety and the right to joint decisions and good governance.

The aim of the bill is to force health care providers to offer patients clear and reliable information that will allow them to make informed choices.

The information rights law, the first of its kind in this country, will apply to all forms of health care.
