Dutch film wins best short film award

A film by actress and director Nova van Dijk has won a prize as Best Live Action Short at the International Shortfest in Palm Springs. The festival is North America's biggest short film festival according to film company Phanta Vision Film International.

The scenario was written by the director's sister Laura van Dijk. Cat and mice is about a young thief, who steals local cats then returns them for reward money. He suspects his brutish neighbor of kidnapping a local girl, but finds that appearances can be dangerously deceptive. The prize is 2,000 US dollars.
