Dutch cops seize ecstasy tablets in raid
Dutch police recovered 250,000 ecstasy tablets Wednesday after busting a suspected sale in a parking lot near the German border, prosecutors said.
Two men, a 45-year-old German and a 42-year-old Dutch, were arrested when police swooped on a parking lot at a gardening centre in the town of Kerkrade, about 223 kilometres (140 miles) southeast of Amsterdam.
The Dutch citizen was believed to have been the supplier, a statement from the prosecutors' office said. A third man was arrested in Germany.
The men arrested in Kerkrade would be extradited to Germany, the statement added.
This is a German investigation with German authorities alerting the Dutch police that an exchange would take place," prosecution spokesman Wim de Bruin told AFP, noting that the tablets had a street value of about one euro each.
