Dutch conductor wins recording award

Dutch conductor Jac van Steen is being awarded the BBC Music Magazine Disc of the Year award in London on Tuesday.

Van Steen has been given the prize for his recording with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales of the second and sixth symphonies of English composer David Matthews. The Dutch musician has been the orchestra’s principal guest conductor since 2005.
